Overview

GetEmojiSnap ("we", "this site") is an emoji search tool. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit getemojisnap.com, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. Our guiding principle: collect as little as possible.

What we collect

Search queries and usage events. If — and only if — you accept statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to record anonymized usage events (searches performed, emojis copied, categories opened, platform previews viewed, language switches). IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. We do not build user profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not run cross-site tracking.

Server logs. Our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs (timestamp, URL requested, HTTP status, user-agent) for security and abuse prevention. Logs are rotated and deleted automatically.

No accounts. There are no user accounts on GetEmojiSnap. We do not ask for, and do not store, names, email addresses or passwords when you browse or search.

Legal basis (GDPR)

• Statistics cookies: your consent, which you can give or refuse in the cookie banner and withdraw at any time by clearing site data.
• Technical logs and security: our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, abuse-resistant service.

Cookies

We set a single preference cookie remembering your cookie choice and (optionally) your display language. Analytics cookies load only after consent. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months (the standard GA4 retention setting). Server logs are kept for days, not months. Preference cookies persist until you delete them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (and similar laws like UK GDPR, CCPA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Because we hold almost no personal data, the practical exercise of these rights is usually simply clearing your cookies — but you can always contact us (see below) and we will respond within 30 days.

Third parties

Google (Google Analytics) is the only third party that processes visitor data on this site, and only after consent. Google's own privacy policy applies to that processing. Emoji metadata is derived from the Unicode Common Locale Data Repository and Unicode emoji data; emoji preview artwork is self-hosted from the open-licensed Noto, Twemoji and Fluent projects (see the footer for attribution).

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and bump its "last updated" date.
